In 1980, Lee Strobel's (Mike Vogel) award-winning, investigative reporting earns him a promotion to legal editor at the Chicago Tribune. Things at home aren't going nearly as well. His wife Leslie's (Erika Christensen) newfound faith in Christ compels Lee to utilize his journalistic and legal training to try and disprove the claims of Christianity, pitting his resolute atheism against her growing faith.

The Case for Christ shouldn't be dismissed, but like many faith-based productions, it's better at preaching to the choir than reaching the unconverted.

On the whole, the film does exactly what is expected from it, but fails to ultimately convince and is eventually let down by a poorly executed screenplay and an almost ludicrous storyline.

For someone who loves journalism films like Spotlight, The Insider, etc., the investigative aspect certainly appeals to me. No, this film didn't quite rise to the level of those films, but still one that's well worth your time.

I am not going to lie but at first of watching this movie I was very frustrated with the main character he was aggravating so I shut off the movie not finishing the movie. Then suddenly I watched the movie all the way through and I loved it . This movie is one of my favorite Christian movies now .

I know the author, and this story is genuine. A non-nonsense reporter investigates Christianity in order to disprove it. He realizes that if he can show that the resurrection of Christ from the dead did not happen in history, then Christianity is false. However, through his quest, he comes to the opposite conclusion: Jesus did rise from the dead and his message of salvation is true. Strobel went on to write many books arguing for the truth of Christianity, such as The Case for Christ, The Case for Faith, The Case for Miracles, and others. He is the real deal, and this film is a convincing account of his quest. It is not for Christians only, but for anyone interested in Christianity.

For those of you who still believe Christian movies are bad, prepare to eat your words! This movie feels universally cinematic, even has a good soundtrack. And that's just the packaging it comes in. The story of this stubborn atheist journalist, discovering the truth about Jesus, will leave you believing in the impossible once again. The best part is it's a true story.
