Lava C @RT14634945 Jun 26 Despite what many people have said, this is in fact a very good film, people claim there is too much explanation, but I would put that up to the need for setup, of which it has a lot to do, given that based on the film, it seems like it was intended to have a second or even third film, but due to the utter failure in reviews, this plan was likely scrapped. Another problem people mentioned was that the characters weren’t properly developed, which is honestly true, the script focuses too far on the plot, and too little on the characters, the logistics of the details (which is more so a concern exclusive to me), and the societal effects, which I believe could have been addressed in a sequel. The biggest reason that this film lost points for me, is that it shouldn’t have been a film, that isn’t to say it shouldn’t exist, if that were my point I’d’ve given it 2 stars or less, I think that this should’ve been a series, there was too much content for a film, and not enough detail for a story. Mostly weak acting, horrible dialogue, lazy & lame camera work, and it sinks into the obligatory soap opera every 10 minutes. And on top, it is a tonal and genre-wise chaos, oscillating between catastrophy movie and Monty Python kind of absurd, apparently without being aware of it. Watchable, but barely so. Hollywood could make a decent movie out of this - although, again, there's nothing one wouldn't have seen elsewhere already.
