Cataclysmic conditions on Earth forced a mass exodus to a distant planet. Generations later, a manned mission hurtles back to assess living conditions on the desolate, mostly submerged world. The sole survivor of the expedition is attacked by a violent band of scavengers, themselves locked in battle with a far more sinister foe. Certainly lead adult actor Arnezeder has panache to spare, as does Bousinna, but the muddled storyline defeats them time and time again, no matter how perfectly angry/hopeful their lines are.

The concept is cool but underdeveloped for sure. Ending is not satisfying. The actors did an excellent job. The story itself has some ironing out needed. Some things didn’t make sense, and there are unreasonable things that occur. Not a great movie. See it once when you have nothing else to watch or for background noise.

My kind of movie. Yes, flawed. But totally hooked me into the world. The children were very natural. The female leads owned their roles. The men…played their parts well.

The sound kept it moving. The muted color was brilliant. I was sold on the protagonist and actress. Neat how the real antagonist was us. Like Pitch Black...I would buy that DVD.

I don't get the hate for the film. Yes, it's slow, but it's a good film about existentialism and how humans can be selfish. A non Hollywood film. Maybe that's why people don't like it. I agree that the ending is a disappointment.
