In the early 17th century, innocent young Persephone is falsely accused and put on trial for her life. Her fate seems sealed except for the timely intervention of the mysterious Reverend Mother offering her not just sanctuary, but hope. The Reverend Mother is the leader of a small religious retreat where her fellow Sisters seek atonement for their pasts. But upon arrival, Persephone is plagued with visions and soon realizes that it's not salvation that awaits but a battle for her very soul.

04/04/2020 It was filmed nicely BUT the special effects were diabolical and ruined the movie. Michael Ironside only appears for 5 minutes at the beginning. It's also called Heretiks. La historia carece de peso, y a pesar de que maneja algunas ideas frescas y que bien tratadas podrian haber resultado en una pelicula de terror muy vistosa, e incluso intrigante e impactante, se queda en poca cosa. No entiendo, porque tuvieron que tirar de "green screen" en algunos planos, cuando podrian haberse resuelto de otra forma y ademas es bastante palpable que no se lo trabajaron mucho. Sin sentido. The ancient background scenes are very beautiful. For me this movie isn't too scary enough.
