Watched this by accident. Walked into the wrong auditorium while looking for Hamnet. Don't ask. Manipulative mother-in-law Morwen protects Anne with both iron fist and iron dagger. The cost of their survival is sin, but punishment looms. This is a buddhist moral tale disguised as a horror, I think. Except that it's Christian this time. The cinematographic shots are nice and I liked the childhood scenes, but the rest of it is...

The Dreadful is a chilling horror-thriller with a bleak atmosphere. Sophie Turner and Kit Harington deliver gripping performances that add depth to Anne’s haunting journey. The tale of isolation and a past figure’s return kept me uneasy yet intrigued throughout.

Acting was good, accents were bad. And the ending... I wont spoil it but the graphics? And could have spent more time with whole angel/helmet thing abit more

you really gotta pay attention to this one as the young brit girl is quite appealing in her youth, even though she's very easily led. the mgh is finally acting her age by taking on roles that fit her. the ending is kinda unsatisfying as the girl still holds the helmet and you're really not sure if she stays pure from the evil. you can watch this if only to like the pale, freckled fit UK island beauty.
