Polar bears, the dunk in the water, the ice floe that should have disintegrated in the storm, the 'I never saw the floating tankard', the ice skate dagger, the 'I do see the floating tankard' but choose to stay on the ice and worst of all... A pathetic telemarketer who's about the most annoying movie character so far this year. Oh, and a big FU to her so-called friends and family who never once tried calling her. See more dennis H @djhuff23 Mar 15 This movie was so bad that i came here specifically to let the world know how bad it really is. It's the script, the script is laughable. The cgi isn't bad, the acting isn't bad, it's the story line. No way an ice sheet that small survives a severe storm without breaking apart. If she can chat with a call center guy she can use her phone to call for help. No one is waiving at a 747 flying at high altitude for help. Falling in the water and then making it back onto the ice sheet and not dying of hypothermia. The ice sheet lasting days in open water never would happen. The polar bear encounter was just laughible. Falling on her skate, laughible. Stitching herself up, laughible. There is just WAY too much wrong with this film to get in under 1000 words. The only reason it's worth watching is to marvel at how bad it is and so that you can proclaim to the world that you saw it and lived to tell the tale. Had all the ingredients for a gripping Arctic survival thriller: an unusual premise, a dramatic setting, high stakes. What it delivered instead was a visual mess that's hard to take seriously. The most glaring problem is the CGI and green screen work, which looks painfully obvious throughout. For a film that relies entirely on its frozen and desolate environment to build tension and immersion, that's a fatal flaw. When you can clearly see the seams between the actor and the background, any sense of danger or believability evaporates instantly. It's difficult to feel the cold, the isolation, or the threat when the Arctic looks like a video game cutscene. And unfortunately there's not much else to fall back on. The film doesn't compensate with strong performances, compelling storytelling, or sharp pacing. It simply drifts from one unconvincing scene to the next. A great survival film makes you forget you're watching one. The Drift never does. Skip it. See more tm11999 M @tm11999 Mar 5 dumb little "lost" movie. how'd this happen? she has a phone, why can't we find her? she's on the phone with a stupid, wimpy, gen z moron who doesn't listen to her pleas. the bear would have fed her baby, not just swam away. hypothermia would have killed her after she fell in. you can watch this, as long as your chores are done.
