On one level, The End of Oak Street is nothing more -- or less -- than a swift, satisfying exercise in fight-or-flight suspense entertainment. It’s an escapist adventure with enjoyably ropy special effects and a nasty visceral kick.

The End of Oak Street was decent. The premise is interesting, the creature attacks deliver, and there are some great kills. When it embraces being a straight-up dinosaur survival movie, it's at its best. The actual plot is just okay. It kept me entertained, but I never felt like the story was as strong as the concept. Where it really lost me was the ending. Greg sacrifices himself and dies, only for the surviving family to travel back to shortly before everything happened and essentially find a way to save another version of him. It's a clever idea on paper, but it felt a little too convenient after everything the movie had put these characters through. And once you start thinking about it, the ending creates more questions than it answers. The Greg who went through everything with Denise is still dead. There are apparently duplicate people running around, including two Jeannettes, and the movie never really explains what happened to the other versions of everybody or exactly how these timelines are supposed to work. Maybe leaving some mystery was intentional, but there's a difference between leaving me thinking and leaving me asking, “Wait… so what the hell happened to everybody else?” Great creature moments, some memorable kills, okay plot, and an ending that got a little too outlandish for me.

Honestly, it was probably a four star but I did five because it was something different and unique and thats whats needed that was a big plus on this movie very unique very creative
