The Midnight Sky shines with Clooney's deep and abiding belief in the human condition, in compassion, in ... "redemption" is the wrong word, too Catholic. Rather, in connection, even if it is brief, even if it is seemingly one-sided.

If you can overlook certain clichés and the hokey narrative device, THE MIDNIGHT SKY is a thoroughly engaging post-apocalyptic sci-fi film. It may not do anything particularly new with the genre, but it doesn’t need to.

A good representation of isolation and the impact that has. While this movie doesn’t do anything extraordinary and new, it doesn’t necessarily have to. Not groundbreaking but worth a watch.

George, if you direct a movie, don't examine a bleeding astronaut while hanging off the side of the spaceship after taking on an asteroid field, lol. And ANY other sci fi movie has air locks depressurize or pressurize almost instantly... 1 minute?? Feasible, in Star Wars, lol... not 2020... set years ahead in time. Liked it though. Good plot, actors, & dialogue.

Who Is Iris Sullivan? (12,536 – 27 Jun 2026 – Claudio Carvalho) "The Midnight Sky" (2020) is an original dramatic sci-fi directed by George Clooney. The cinematography, special effects and settings are breathtaking, and the plot discloses who is Iris in the flawed ending. Adewole and the pregnant Sully decide to make the long journey to K-23, but their lives are doomed since they will be alone with no other couple to reproduce and they will die alone with a child. My vote is seven. Title (Brazil): "O Céu da Meia-Noite" ("The Midnight Sky")

Sometimes I’m very glad that I don’t take too much notice of Rotten Tomatoes reviews. If I had then I wouldn’t have watched this wonderfully-powerful and moving film. The cast is excellent and the movie is superbly-produced an excellently-paced. I’m going to watch it again straight away with my loved ones. Yes, it’s that kind of film!
