Young Clara needs a magical, one-of-a-kind key to unlock a box that contains a priceless gift. A golden thread leads her to the coveted key, but it soon disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. In that world, she meets a soldier named Phillip, a group of mice and the regents who preside over three realms. Clara and Phillip must now enter a fourth realm to retrieve the key and restore harmony to the unstable land.

At times it has the feel of a computer game: cross the bridge, open the gates, jump off the wall, beat the boss. Only characters in computer games tend to be more unpredictable, with more than one twist.

The movie looks beautiful, its not an extreem Christmasy themed movie, but its lovely to watch. It has not much intense action/violence, but that is not always needed. I think people might compare it too much to Alice in Wonderland, and that is not fair in my opinion. Its a lovely movie for young kids age 5/6 and older. Its a dreamy, calm fantasy movie with a little adventure.

Worst Christmas movie ever (so far)!!!! I mean I am not a huge Nutcracker fan, but the ballet is more you know smarter than this crap! The Keira Knightley Sugar Plum Fairy is creepy compared to her in Pirates of the Carribean and the plot is so mind numbing ridiculous that it makes you wanna cry! PLEASE DON’T WATCH THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Despite Mackenzie Foy's decent performance, the Nutcracker and the Four Realms did not provide anything magical nor exciting. In addition, this may also be Keira Knightley's worst performance to date.
