In a not-so-distant future, AI is all the rage and nature is becoming a distant memory. Tech giant Pegasus offers couples the opportunity to share pregnancy on a more equal footing via detachable artificial wombs, or pods. But at what cost? Rachel and Alvy, a New York couple, are ready to take their relationship to the next level and start a family. Rachel's work gives them a chance to fast-track to the top of the Pegasus waiting list. But Alvy, a botanist and devoted purist has doubts. Nonetheless, his love for Rachel prompts him to take a leap of faith. And so begins the wild ride to parenthood in this brave new world with all its twists, turns, and bumps along the way.

The material they’re [Clarke and Ejiofor] given is often slim and simple, but they lean into it with everything they can offer, and find the relatability in characters who feel more like symbols than like people.

This was a better watch than I was expecting it to be. It really leans in to the struggles of career women and people's right to choose. It becomes interesting when the father bonds with the pod, wears it, gets emotional at a scene on the TV and you can see the mothers envy This film makes you think. Birth givers should have the right to choose because it's their body, but is the AI aspect a bit too much for raising a baby in the pod.

Before watching this movie I bumped into one comment under the trailer that said that it looks like a "Black Mirror" episode, and that description couldn't be more accurate. The movie takes place in the 22 century that introduces us the new way of getting pregnant and having a baby. What you see on this poster is exactly how it is. Parents place their DNAs required for pregnancy in this egg that is filled with liquid that mothers are carrying in their body when they're pregnant, all thanks to the help from the specialized clinic. Since it's a movie I expected to see also how that baby is growing up outside of the egg. But all we see is just the way how the pregnancy process is going. It was interesting to watch although the movie itself is okay, it's not bad but during almost 2 hours of the movie they could've add something more to the plot.

I loved this movie! Not sure why so many people have such issues with it. It’s not meant to be scientific or serious, it’s lighthearted and fun. I enjoyed it from start to finish, and would watch it again.
