Chie 1 @Chieallen 4d It didn’t help that I had recently seen a quiet place, and this movie is inferior to that one. It scores a zero on the plausibility scale. We are to believe that a species of vicious bats evolved a survived for hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of years trapped in a cave until some splunkers accidentally poke a hole into their vault. How did these creatures live? What did they eat? And then there’s the lady with the fenced in house. She has the house cleverly sealed off with a noisemaker should someone open the gate. And when someone tries it, she comes out with a gun shouting to get off her land. Didn’t she get the memo about the flying bat creatures?! And then the end of the movie – – spoiler alert – – it’s stupid. The family finds their way up to where there’s snow on the theory that these creatures don’t like the cold. Fair enough. Until we see one of the creatures tending to its clutch of babies right there in the snow. All in all, three stars is being generous. See more Dan K @MovieScroll Feb 20 I loved the Movie. I thought Kate Corbett was ourstanding. And indeed all actors were exceptional. Loved the plot. Dont love the critics. I am here to get guidance about what is good to watch but generally speaking critics dont appear to like movies. Like weather forecasters they are afraid to give a positive forecast. I bet I have missed many enjoyable movies because critics fundamentaly dont really know their job or what an enjoyable movie is. But they get their fees, so thats all right isnt it ? For them. But not for me and other viewers. Thats why I am no longer interest in watching critics reviews. And I am beginning to wonder why I should visit your website at all ? The idea of sound-sensitive creatures and the focus on survival creates a few genuinely suspenseful moments. The visuals are decent, and the performances do enough to keep the story moving. However, the film struggles to fully use its potential. The writing feels weak at times, characters lack depth, and the tension fades quickly. It often feels like a familiar story without offering anything truly new, making it predictable and uneven in execution. Overall, The Silence is a watchable one-time thriller with a promising premise, but it falls short of delivering a memorable or impactful experience.
