Morales wisely relies on his two lead actors to bring taut vitality to the proceedings. However, as he keeps putting in many circular scenes that don’t differ much from each other, the intensity of their performances starts to feel inconsistent.

WASP WAS GREAT. It had an amazing Plot with a twist that showed vengeance hurt despair and anger. Naomi Harris was off the chain with her acting. Dormer played a great supporting actress as well!!!!!

Underrated flick. Didn’t see much advertising if any but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. No really dull spots or lagging. Nice build and good tie together for everything as it moves along.

The Wasp, much like the movie The Gift (2017), is a psychological revenge thriller centered around the theme of childhood bullying and the implications it has years later. There are some decent moments but The Wasp relies heavily on exchanges between its lead characters and while they are good at times, they aren't quite good enough to recommend this movie. The ending is also a very tough sell.

4.0 stars; This is definitely a two-woman performance in a single location, i.e., a stage play. So what is it doing on the big screen, you ask? If it were a stage play, it would be Broadway level just on the performances alone, which were superb. The reason it makes a good movie, to me, is because of the way the plot is laid out. There is no real character development in the beginning of the film; you're left to do that on your own. However, as the film progresses, the revealed previous history between the two women exposes the character of each. There are a number of surprises along the way that keep you engaged. That engagement is rewarded by an ending that you're not really prepared for.
