Jerry Seinfeld’s debut as a feature film writer and director is a mess. His breakfast pastry-themed 1960s farce plays like he shot every idea he had and made it into a 93-minute movie, regardless of whether they worked together or were particularly funny.

There's a lot of not terribly funny jokes in this film. A lot of hit and miss, sort of like a Saturday Night Live show where three-out-of-five jokes are vaguely funny and the other two aren't.

The absurd dialogue has kids saying things like, “hot fruit lightning,” which vaguely sounds like a joke on the surface, but, in fact, is just a collection of nonsense words.

There is a common criticism about comedies overstretching what could have maybe been a so-so sketch into a feature, but Unfrosted takes the cake in just how egregiously it does this. With painfully unfunny joke after unfunny joke, it's all empty calories.

In an age when every movie is an unoriginal reboot, sequel, prequel, or complete ripoff, Unfrosted is an original, fun, and memorable comedy. This movie succeeded in making me laugh, in making me forget doom scrolling for awhile, and in entertaining me thoroughly. The comedy is wacky, snarky, and the cast is fantastic. Aside from almost anyone who was ever on SNL, a standout was Jon Hamm, who did an amazing job parading his Don Draper character. The buzzkill losers putting this movie down are the same ones complaining that no one tries anything original, no one tries comedy just for sake of comedy, and apparently wants every movie to be 3 hours of tense dialog like the Irishman. This isn't for them. This movie exists for one single reason: To entertain you. No, not every joke is a hit, not every scene is cohesive - and it doesn't have to be! It is fun for fun's sake. So enjoy something that is wacky. Enjoy giving your brain a break. Enjoy a simple, fun story with an excellent cast.

I first watched this movie alone, in a dark room. In retrospect, I wish I had the windows open so my neighbors could hear me laughing and see my tears of joy. The characters were immaculate. The set charming. The plot was full of twists and never failed to keep me entertained. Humorous doesn't even begin to describe it. I had to change pants four times. However, I might note that this movie would not be well-received by anyone who thinks to highly of themselves or spends long hours criticizing others on the internet (i.e. those who are devoid of joy).

If this movie came out in the 90s it would of been a hit . The younger generation doesn't like dumb comedies this reminds me of Hot shots or naked Gun stuff I laughed all the way through it. If your over 40 you will get it
