Sigrid thinks she's met the perfect match with the charming and handsome Christian, but there is one catch -- he lives with a man who acts like his pet dog. Trying to be open-minded, Sigrid continues the relationship but begins to notice an insidious undertone to Christian. Maybe 'puppy play' isn't as innocent as it seems. A chilling feature debut from up-and-coming Scandinavian filmmakers Viljar Bøe and Karl Oskar Åsli.

There is enough meat here – touching on digital dating etiquette and the underlying emotional viscera – for a Hollywood remake. Time for Matt Damon to wriggle into that furry outfit. Go to Full Review

A terrifying twist on the notion of man's best friend, Good Boy repeatedly morphs into a new, terrifying breed of horror film that leaves the audience pulling at the end of their leash to break free from the unbearable tension and whiplash narrative. Go to Full Review

Genuinely uncomfortable and a fantastic portrayal of abusive relationships, both within kink-focused relationships and more mainstream ones, with a closing scene guaranteed to disturb to the core. Go to Full Review

The best example of Viljar Bøe's freaky, psychological horror. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Good Boy is an astute miniature that summons considerable power to disturb. I do wish its denouement hadn't been marred by some basic credibility issues, but the overall effect is nonetheless creepy as hell. Go to Full Review

My top 5 horror movies I watched in 2024. See more Green C @Green804 Oct 26 Wonderfully weird but the victims are so frustratingly stupid, could only give it four stars. Very original, good actors. See more Mark M @Markmazurik Aug 28 Good Boy offers a quirky thriller setup with a guy treating a man like a dog—it's intriguing at first but drags into predictability. Acting's fine, nothing standout. The ending is mildly thought-provoking, questioning control and consent, but feels rushed. 6 out of 10 🤙 from this guy. See more Read all reviews
