Windmill Lane tells the exhilarating story of how the ambition and passion of three outsiders, James Morris, Russ Russell and Meiert Avis led to the founding of the famed recording studio and post production house in the heart of Dublin's docklands in the 1980s. This documentary traces the origins and downfalls of the studio whilst exploring the cultural age of Ireland at this time and looking at the incredible pop culture and creations that have sprung from Windmill Lane over the years. Windmill Lane takes the viewer on a thrilling ride through the ups and downs of the Studio and exhibits how the music and film created in this wonderful space have shaped the booming creative industries of Ireland today. With a fantastic soundtrack, the film is a fast-paced ride through late 20th century Irish society which features broad and varied archive footage and a host of interviews with celebrated Irish musicians such as U2, Clannad, Joe Elliot Barry Devlin, Gavin Friday and more.
