Michael Mueller's character-driven script is about the only thing that feels driven in this otherwise listless vehicle, and "The Beat Beneath My Feet" conveys all the pulse-pounding energy of a funeral procession.

This film is for anyone who has ever played air guitar in the privacy of their bedroom. Or maybe, like me, you used a tennis racket. Either way, it's about the nurture and realisation of an improbable dream, and it's very nicely done.

It's a great movie mixed with both comedy and angst, Tom is such a complex character and I can't help to see myself in him (that's both good and bad) it has a mix of romance in there but it still feels like she's her own character and don't even get me started on the singing.

This is quite a fun, escapist watch. It's cheesy but it's fun - I enjoyed the various pieces of guitar based music played throughout and the central idea of a teenage kid finding out they live near a famous rock and roll star (never mind his backstory of being supposedly dead) is a fun and exciting one. It's not entirely original I suppose but its fun and I enjoyed watching it, hence my rating. Yes, I'd recommend this, if it sounds of interest.

The Beat Beneath My Feet is a sublimely inspiring musical film with good tunes, fantastic performances, and a heart like a lion. Talented newcomer Nicholas Galitzine exceeds expectations, both with his acting as well as with his singing. 90210 heartthrob Luke Perry proves that he still has the chops with his committed performance as a faded rock star tortured by the past. The film also features strikingly surreal music transitions that brilliantly serve as metaphors for what is happening in the film's plot. All in all, The Beat Beneath My Feat soars as a toe-tapping, feel-good flick!
