Despite having a dangerous criminal with a vendetta after him, attorney Jack Sturges (Chevy Chase) has a tougher adversary to worry about -- his girlfriend's son, Ben (Jonathan Taylor Thomas). As Sturges and Ben's mom, Sandy (Farrah Fawcett), become more serious, Ben increasingly ups his efforts to sabotage the relationship, since he has no intention of giving up his prime spot in the household dynamic. Sturges is determined to connect with Ben, but Ben is going to make him work for it.

Seriously, I love this movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated PG for Mild Language Throughout and Some Violence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great family flick from the 90s. Love the story, message and just the general feel of this film. Still watch it sometimes to bring back some good memories.

Jonathan Taylor Thomas plays a young man trying to get rid of his mother’s (Farrah Fawcett) new boyfriend (Chevy Chase). Chevy Chase is best known for his physical humor, however, this film does not give him many chances to show that off. JTT for his part did a great job here. The writing, especially for Farrah Fawcett’s character, did not work for me. Also, the third act ended up having a more cartoonish tone than the rest of the movie and that was a bit jarring. If you really enjoy Chevy Chase or Jonathan Taylor Thomas this movie might interest you, otherwise skip it.

This Disney movie was alright. Chevy Chase, Farrah Fawcett, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, George Wendt, and the rest of the cast did a decent job in this movie. The story of the movie was kind of entertaining and humorous. It's about protecting your family from pain and getting to know the new members of your family. If you haven't seen this movie yet, you may not enjoy it. I didn't like this movie very much.

This is probably one of the very few roles where Chevy Chase plays a Vulnerable Character. Who's trying to a good stepfather to a kid who wants him gone. It's a good family flick.

Synopsis
