This series reminds me of good cheap 90’s fun with the bonus of Anya Taylor Joy who I have loved since Queen’s Gambit (which is deep & meaningful). M @jwmartens 12h Anya Taylor-Joy and Timothy Olyphant are terrific working with what they have but it ain’t much. The bad guys are not believable, especially Annette Benning, as a supposed criminal mastermind, who threatens John’s child Lucky with death then withers like a baby when her son is threatened by her boss, and her henchman is boring. If you want to see a tough woman boss, see Jennifer Jason Leigh in Fargo. The FBI are comically inept, which may be the case now institutionally with KP at the head of it, but field agents could not be this bad. But worst of all is the dialogue which is supposed to be tough and sassy and winds up boring and dull. Formulaic "prestige" TV. Anya made a character to fit her delusions of being cool, and a show that serves a sole purpose of presenting that narcissistic idea.
