Adam Lerner has always tried to take good care of his health, so it comes as a cruel surprise when he learns that he has malignant tumors along his spine. His doctor gives him a 50/50 chance of survival, but Adam tries to remain upbeat, though his mother and his friend Kyle, react badly to the news. Sentimental in just the right measure and very moving. It addresses cancer in a humane way with a touch of humor. The script is coherent and thoughtful. I can't deny that I felt empathy for the protagonist and reproached myself for the lack of understanding the world can offer to people dealing with the disease. I felt that Anna Kendrick was missing a bit. The therapist is likable, but I think she could have had more screen time to be considered a fully realized character. Without a doubt, it's a refreshing film when you want to remain hopeful and don't want to cry.

I was honestly surprised by how much I loved 50/50. It balances comedy and drama in a way that feels incredibly real, never leaning too hard into either side. Joseph Gordon-Levitt gives a genuinely heartfelt performance, and Seth Rogen brings humor that actually feels natural rather than forced. What I appreciated most is how honest the film feels about dealing with something as serious as cancer—it doesn’t sugarcoat the fear or uncertainty, but it also finds moments of humor and hope in a believable way. The relationships, especially with friends and family, felt authentic and grounded. Overall, I’d give it a 9/10 for its emotional depth, strong performances, and perfect balance of humor and heart.

i absolutley love this movie, just watched it last night for the first time and wow this movie is so amazing, good acting, good story telling feels like a forrest gump type movie. i enjoyed this movie a lot, I strongly recommend
