Merida (Kelly Macdonald), the impetuous but courageous daughter of Scottish King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson), is a skilled archer who wants to carve out her own path in life. Her defiance of an age-old tradition angers the Highland lords and leads to chaos in the kingdom. Merida seeks help from an eccentric witch (Julie Walters), who grants her an ill-fated wish. We had to watch this movie in French and do 2 google forms, which were alright, but an entire ESSAY along with a multiple-choice with Open-ended on it as well the day before. after it was finished, our teacher made us RETAKE it. the movie has good animation but it caused me PAIN AND SUFFERING, would only recommend to your kid if they WON'T take French in high school

I’ve always enjoyed Brave it seems more than most, but it’s absolutely a flawed film. They stupidly fired Branda Chapman as the director (is that her name?), and replaced her with someone else, resulting in a film with two different halves. One being this coming-of-age princess tale, and another being a body-swap ticking time-bomb. I don’t hate it, I get enjoyment out of it every time, but it’s such a fundamentally flawed film.

Brave is a beautifully animated tale of independence and family. Merida’s fierce spirit and the heartfelt mother-daughter story set it apart from typical princess films. While the plot is familiar, its emotional depth and stunning visuals make it a worthy watch.
