[Gibson's] assertively affirmative outlook doesn't really brook tears, and the filmmaker's warmth and humor, even in times of despair, gives the story a radiance that makes mundane moments feel precious, while allowing hopeful moments to raise goosebumps. Go to Full Review

Ricky H @RT41311712 2d Some of us, through perseverance of exceptional circumstances may come to realise that Love is the answer to Everything, we inherently learn that time itself was the gift and that inevitably for every journey there will come an ending, despite our reluctance to accept the deficit of wanting more. Being witness to Poet Laureate Andrea Gibson‘s acceptance and unwavering hope in itself is a beautiful triumph of spirit and resilience, and appreciation of Everything. Perhaps in the moment of acceptance, we find humanity in its greatest guise. - Simply Beautiful. See more Greg N @SirRong Mar 26 Wow. Every second you spent watching is worth tenfold in clarity about what you’re doing with your own. I miss Andrea and Megan in my life already. See more Christopher W @RT29676365 Mar 11 It was a sad but inspiring story. It was put together well. I enjoyed spending time with these people. See more Jill S @jillstiles Mar 6 Having been through this myself, it was so beautiful and gave words to so many of my experiences I didn't have words for. Nicely done! I hope you win the Oscar. See more Dean E @RT73719767 Mar 5 Equal parts heartwarming and heartbreaking, the story of the last year in the life of Andrea Gibson, Colorado's Poet Laureate, is both sad and funny. Using humor and emotion to get through the grim treatments for ovarian cancer, Gibson and their wife Megan Falley project a strength and vulnerability through the ups and downs of bad news, hopefully breakthroughs, and ultimately a terminal diagnosis. See more Jonathan K @aFIREintheattic Mar 1 "There's this thing [that] basketball players do where if you're practicing, you can't leave the court unless you've ended on a make. And so I've been thinking about this time that might be the end of my life as ending on a make." -Andrea Gibson Based on the footage of their final show, they didn't just end on a make. That's a full court heave. Absolutely sent it. Devastatingly beautiful emotive poetry performance. Some genuinely hilarious moments in the first 30 mins, the middle 30 got montage heavy, but the last 30 mins of this doc wrecked me. A permeating story of what it means to be alive and to know we are dying. When illness comes for me or my loved ones, I will return here to see how it's lived. There's no way to do it wrong, except to refuse to bear witness to it... all of it. BONUS quote from Andrea: "I just want to have a body. I don't care what it looks like." That's a bar.
