See more cinephile f @RT52030170 12/28/2021 I think that this documentary handles the topic very well and it is a topic worth discussing. The ending message though was a bit too simplistic as is Dan Savage's explanation of why gay men don't wish to project effeminacy. That part of the film could be fleshed out a bit more. See more 01/31/2020 As a gay man I fully relate to the mistakes people make in assuming someone is gay or straight by their speech. Stereotypes are covered, how gays are treated badly even by other gays [professionally or socially.] Yet, certain speech patterns are more prevalent among gays [although some straights may also have the same patterns.] I found it interesting to see that at very young ages when children don't even have a concept of gay or straight, gay men often had certain common speech traits.
