A shitstorm of bad news sends out of work filmmaker Jimmy Lang (Joe Begos) spiraling into an out of control bender, during which he claims to have been abducted by aliens. Fearing they'll come back, he contacts his old friend Stiggs (Matt Mercer) to help him gear up for war. When the sun sets, the duo are thrown into a hallucinatory explosion of aliens, drugs, booze, and all out carnage. Joe Begos is back! And this time, he's brought his A-game with a drug-fueled, wall-to-wall frenzy that pulls no punches from the moment it begins. Channeling the hectic, chaotic brilliance of Jackson, Raimi, and other masters, Begos infuses his own unique tone and craftsmanship into JIMMY AND STIGGS. This film also showcases Begos's acting chops, delivering a physical performance that's part Keaton and a whole lot of Campbell. A wild and wonderful ride that truly deserves to be seen in the cinema with like-minded lunatics.

I have no idea on how to describe this ride by Eli Roth. It’s funny, it’s messy & all over the place in the best way. It’s definitely for those with an acquired taste. Truly a trip on shrooms from start to finish.

Jimmy & Stiggs is a passion project and the epitome of rock and roll. This film is a neon splatter gore claustrophobic rollercoaster ride that punches you in the gut and refuses to let you catch your breath. From camera angles to practical effects, this film does so much without needing to do a whole lot. Aesthetically this film is a giant dopamine rush for the eyes, black light neon colored blood spewing all over the screen and all over his apartment. The main characters Jimmy and Stiggs buck all typical character tropes, leaning into the heavy drinking and drugging, fowl mouthed characters who don’t have a whole lot of redeeming qualities, and avoid any typical character arches. This is a fun, shock filled thrill and gore ride that is a must see in theaters. You will not see anything like this any time soon and seeing a filmmaker make a film on his own terms with characters that he relates to and creating exactly what he wants to see is a breath of fresh air.
