Mia (Jane Levy), a drug addict, is determined to kick the habit. To that end, she asks her brother, David (Shiloh Fernandez), his girlfriend, Natalie (Elizabeth Blackmore) and their friends Olivia (Jessica Lucas) and Eric (Lou Taylor Pucci) to accompany her to their family's remote forest cabin to help her through withdrawal. Eric finds a mysterious Book of the Dead at the cabin and reads aloud from it, awakening an ancient demon. All hell breaks loose when the malevolent entity possesses Mia.

Fede Álvarez’s Evil Dead, while not entirely following the Evil Dead traditions the cult classic is famous for, creates a further sprawl into the Raimi-verse, bringing the world of the Deadites firmly into modern day.

Takes the bones of the core concept, then remixes and reimagines them in ways that honor the spirit of the source material without trying to replicate it. Without Bruce Campbell's charm, this might be the best we could get out of an Evil Dead revival.

This movie is bananas! Gory , nasty, brutal, and unrelenting. Amazing practical effects and kills! People complain cause the tone is different but this is its own thing! Must watxh.

This remake didn't reinvent the wheel, but it still holds up as one of the most brutal and disgusting films I've ever seen. Seriously, this movie has BLOOOOOD. Overall, though, it is a total blast and keeps you engaged throughout. Also has some surprising emotional moments which I didn't expect. If you have a strong enough stomach, you have to check this one out. The finale especially is just bonkers. It's definitely a different flavor from the original Raimi classics, but still stands quite well on its own. This movie will make you want to take a shower after watching!

Sure, it's missing Bruce Campbell, but it makes up for it by delivering some truly brutal thrills while still maintaining a bit of the original trilogy's zaniness.

One of my favorite horror films. Creepy atmosphere, quality acting, great effects and sound. If you have a 4k player buy the UHD Blu-ray. It looks and sounds phenomenal. This deserves to be above 80% !

This is my favourite Evil Dead movie... I dont know how it did not get higher ratings. Hard to be a perfect movie so no 5 stars but 4 n half cuz close enough. If your not a fan of this movie i have no idea why. It has EVERYTHING. Its a wild, intense, grotesque ride. Its got that campy feeling being trapped in woods/ cabin. Group of friends and siblings, girl battling addiction. Once the horror starts it does not let up. Some of the best scenes throughout the series. The ending is crazy. Its just a bloody good time. And my opinion, this is the BEST evil dead movie and will be hard to beat. If your a fan of horror. You cant go wrong watching this.

This film is grotesque, it’s horrifying, and it’s a solid addition to the Evil Dead franchise. This film does follow the trend of the previous films of not knowing when to call it quits. It drags on longer than it needs to, but it’s a decent film that has plenty of terrifying and gory moments.
