In this animated family film, the aptly named Goofy (Bill Farmer) is deeply proud of his college-bound son, Max (Jason Marsden). For his part, Max, who is more cool and collected than his frantic and clumsy father, is eager to take on some fresh experiences with his new independence. So he's understandably flustered when his dad crashes his college life to finish his own degree. Goofy repeatedly embarrasses Max, and their bond is tested as never before.

TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 2d An Extremely Goofy Movie may not match the animation quality of the original, but it makes up for it with heart and strong storytelling. The visuals and drawing style feel simpler and less polished, yet the screenplay shines by delivering a meaningful, funny, and emotionally grounded story. This sequel focuses on Goofy and Max as they face a new chapter, with Max heading to college and learning how to balance independence with family. Max’s growth into adulthood feels natural and relatable, making him the driving force of the story. Their father-son journey reflects real-life struggles about letting go and staying connected. The continuity from the first film deserves more recognition, as it shows rare long-term character development in Disney animation. The absence of Roxanne is disappointing and feels like a missed opportunity, weakening the emotional continuity. However, PJ getting a girlfriend and Goofy finding love adds warmth and balance to the story. See more Ellis Y Nov 11 Loved it even more than the first one. Great for teens as we follow max of to college and see Goofy's struggle letting him go. More comedy than heart warming father son time but keeps up with the great cosy vibe of he 1st film all the same while teaching the importance of moving forward in life even when that means moving apart. Love Goofy and Sylvia. See more Vincent W @Gojirilla5419 Oct 1 It’s not the best sequel, but it’s still a pretty good movie on its own See more Raccoon K Jun 2 This movie is amazing! Absolute must see! I've been obsessing over it for a few months now and am so mad I never saw it as a kid. I love how it focused both on Goofy's problems as well as Max's and not just one character. I will say, this movie definitely follows the "Usual Disney formula" of having a protagonist vs antagonist rather than just a Family dynamic like the first movie. Which isn't really my own favorite style of movie to be completely honest, but I still absolutely love it!! See more Laura D May 7 When I was younger I was so excited to see this movie I don't remember if I saw this movie in theaters or on Disney channel first. It was an okay movie not as good as the movie A Goofy Movie . As a kid I was disappointed that Max's love interest Roxanne wasn't in the movie or even not dating Max . Max and Roxanne was one of the cutest couples in Disney. Sometimes sequels to movies are not as good as the original movie. There where some good and cute moments in this movie though.
