I’m honestly shocked this film isn’t more recognized...it’s a rare gem that actually dares to be deep and unapologetically emotional. It captures the raw, messy reality of trauma and the bond between parents and children in a way that feels incredibly human. ​Nowadays, so many films feel like repetitive copies of each other, but this one stayed with me. It’s moving, it’s soulful, and it reminds you what it’s like to actually feel something while watching a screen. It’s a beautiful masterpiece that deserves way more credit than it gets 10/10 !!! And the cast is a 10/10 too !!! Spoiler: She used her fathers death to go out and cheat on her man, he only found out because of the condom wrapper on the bedroom floor, I don't think she would have told him what she did if he didn't find it, she would have pretended it didn't happen.. then later she has the nerve to go to him and say she misses him and Loves him... if she loved him she wouldn't have took a random guy him and let him F her.. I don't agree with the ending, he's just setting himself up for her to use her father's death again to cheat. the film has good actors in it but let down by the ending, it's 'The Last Boy Scout' all over again, why forgive a cheater.. See more andrea c @Charst 05/26/2025 Dramma con il chiaro stampo di Muccino che però, per ampi tratti, eccede proprio con il melodramma che in altre circostanze era stato maestro nel gestire. Il racconto di una famiglia distrutta dal dolore e dalla sofferenza, il rapporto di amore tra un padre e una figlia i cui sentimenti sono confusi e veramente difficili da comprendere. Infatti è proprio l'insieme della trama con il personaggio interpretato da Amanda Seyfried ad essere nettamente più debole, a tratti quasi fastidiosa per il modo di comportarsi poco credibile, poco giustificabile e ancor meno comprensibile. Russell Crowe invece può sfoderare un'altra ottima interpretazione grazie ad un personaggio molto particolare nel suo mix tra lutto, malattia e genitorialità; senza dubbio il piatto forte del film che da solo ne sostiene quasi tutto il peso. Abbastanza pessima invece la gestione della parte lavorativa della ragazza, psicologa fuori dagli schemi e dalle regole; banale e nocivo. What the filmmakers got right, was the deep bond of a father and a daughter, and how early experiences can shape us. Katie goes thru quite an emotional journey, that is incredibly touching, and worth seeing. Excellent performances by the three main actors.
