I would argue that it is a love story to musical theater. It shows you what theater can do, which is why I'm so glad that they chose to film the stage show instead of trying to adapt it, because I think you'd lose the magic. You'd lose the spark.

Absolutely phenomenal whether you’re a musical theatre fan or not. Even with mythological basis so relevant to our times. The music and cast are perfection. Thankful for musical theatre to be brought to where more can experience.. Most must-see film! It’s a sad song but you’ll want to hear it again and again 😉
