Trying to approach a pastor's life from an everyday perspective feels forced; it simply doesn't work. I should sympathize with the family, but it's just like invading my neighbor's privacy. The premise is undeniably compelling, and the film has heart, which explains its importance. However, it's not enough to make it memorable. And I won't even mention the rushed issue of Jesus's face.
