The general idea of the film is dated and boring but executed so poorly that every line feels cheesy and over acted. We're in an age where films and TV series and being produced at a very high level - the only way this film is classed as 'Good' is if it came out in the mid 90s. The film feels confused from the start, unsure whether it wants to be a slick cat-and-mouse game or a straightforward crime drama, and that uncertainty bleeds into every scene. John Travolta, once a commanding presence, feels disengaged here, offering a performance that lacks energy or menace. Instead of anchoring the story, he drifts through it, adding to the overall flatness. The screenplay is the film’s biggest weakness. Plot threads are introduced without clarity, motivations remain muddy, and supposed twists land without impact. Rather than building suspense, the narrative becomes exhausting, forcing the viewer to work just to understand what’s happening.
