Five years have passed since Hiccup and Toothless united the dragons and Vikings of Berk. Now, they spend their time charting the island's unmapped territories. During one of their adventures, the pair discover a secret cave that houses hundreds of wild dragons -- and a mysterious dragon rider who turns out to be Hiccup's long-lost mother, Valka. Hiccup and Toothless then find themselves at the center of a battle to protect Berk from a power-hungry warrior named Drago.

What Dean DeBlois was able to do with the first How to Train Your Dragon was just incredible and has become big favorite of mine since then. There was some huge expectations for How to Train Your Dragon 2 and boy did Deblois deliver.

I really loved the first movie - there were so many memorable parts! It felt like this one took a bit to warm up to things, and the sense of awe and cuteness didn't quite hit me as much as in the first movie. But still lovable and entertaining!

How to Train Your Dragon 2 é um filme incrível visualmente, com cenas emocionantes, trilha sonora muito boa e um desenvolvimento excelente do Soluço e do Banguela. Porém, achei a introdução da mãe do Soluço um pouco corrida e artificial. Depois de anos desaparecida, tudo se resolve rápido demais, principalmente a reação do Estoico, que quase não demonstra conflito ou mágoa, mesmo sendo uma situação muito pesada. Faltou mais desenvolvimento emocional nessa parte. Ainda assim, o filme continua sendo muito marcante, principalmente pela ação, pela mensagem sobre amadurecimento e pela relação entre os personagens.
