Ritchie has reached into the medieval quiver of tales for material, but has not imposed the meta-narrative of Western history onto those stories. For this restraint medievalists should be thankful, and the critics should be a little more forgiving.

I’m split on this movie. On one hand the plot is all over the place and there is a lot of ideas that aren’t expanded on. But on the other hand I do like some of the creative liberties they took to make the story their own. I don’t think the movie had enough time to explain all the story ideas it wanted to. But saying this, I will probably rewatch this movie because it’s a fun watch when you aren’t trying to think too much. But I think it’s a good example of how sometimes as storytellers you have to cut ideas you like from a story to make the overall plot better.

What on earth is this. Guy Ritchie recreating historical legend by reframing everything in hammed up mockery accents? I can live without that. If you want to do East End gangster flicks then fair enough but this was just embarrassing. There was Peaky Blinders music bizarrely thrown in as well. The acting is woeful. The Mockney gets accentuated to horrendous degrees in some scenes and falls away in others. The whole thing is a shoddy mess of directing.

It is a surprisingly amazing film! I mean. at the start and how it first goes.I thought at that time. yep. it’s gonna be a mid film. But whenever the fight scenes come on. everything completely changes. Those massive landscapes. the crazy action blocks and the intense music. everything hits amazing. I really. really enjoyed it on 4K Bluray. The whole movie has that signature Guy Ritchie way of doing a fast screenplay and I absolutely like it. I mean. I haven't seen any fictional periodic films like this before.Guy Ritchie is just amazing with how he styles it. I like the VFX part also. which gives us nice. highquality landscapes. It is just all amazing.
