Hopefully, the concluding part will zero in more on the man and less on the myth. Go to Full Review

Baptiste S @RT93258109 17h Excellent movie. Showed many unknown historical views from the Second World War. Showed how De Gaulle was alone at the start and rivalry/respect with Churchill. Magimel in Koenig also played excellent. Did not fall in the patriotic trap. See more Damien M @DamienM 3d Very good overall. I like the bits of humour in the middle of this whole drama era. Dialogues between Churchill and De Gaulle are well crafted with some very good punchlines. De Gaulle really was a kind of Don Quixote, that was what France needed at that time. The impressive battle of Bir-Hakeim is the best scene. Not so often to see tank batlles on screen. See more Anne france B @RT45242493 Jul 15 The battle of Bir Hakeim with Koenig is the most amazing part of the movie. Really fantastic. See more Louis B @RT36824135 Jul 13 A must-see ! Battles are epics and the character of De Gaulle is impressive ! See more Antonin D @RT00655423 Jul 6 An excellent movie, with beautiful and tense action scenes (the bir hakeim battle man !), while staying quite accurate to History about De Gaulle and the other main powers. I recommend ! See more Shelley V @Shells Jun 15 2 hours and 40 minutes, I thought I'd be bored, but was enthralled until the end. An excellent movie. Entertaining and historical. The battle Bir Hakeim was an extraordinary feat, allowing the British 8th army to escape Tobruk. (As with Dunkirk the French saved the day, but have to put up with constant jokes about having surrendered...) See more Read all reviews
