06/22/2017 odlicna ekipa, interesno smislen film See more 11/16/2012 Una trama complessa, in cui i temi della fede e del persono sono affrontati dal grande regista americano in maniera molto riflessiva. Ma stavolta Ferrara sembra essere più diretto, cercando un dialogo col divino. Tuttavia le sceneggiature dei film precedenti (quelle con Nicolas St-John)rimangono a mio avviso le migliori. O Coppola vai cultivando as vindimas em Itália e produzindo os filmes fofos da filha. O Oliver Stone de "W." transformou um presidente odiado numa figura simpática que fez tudo ao seu alcance para enfrentar tempos conturbados para a Amà (C)rica. Agora Abel Ferrara faz um filme em que não se vê uma única arma (há uma bomba, ok) e isso à (C) o primeiro aspecto que surpreende em "Mary". A segunda surpresa surge no ritmo muito mais pausado do filme: "Mary" oferece bastante tempo para se pensar sobre o modo como três pessoas foram tocadas pela sua participação num filme sobre a vida de Cristo. Neste jogo de filme pequeno dentro do filme maior, a turbulência espiritual dos personagens de "Mary" alimenta naturalmente algum espaço útil para que cada um possa reflectir sobre a fà (C) e as diferentes formas de vivê-la. Porà (C)m, reflexão e teologia não serão os melhores auxiliares para vender pipocas, o que explica tambà (C)m o enorme fracasso comercial deste objecto de escasso entretenimento. Mas à (C) de aplaudir as boas intenções de Abel Ferrara e a tentativa de fazer um filme, vá lá, benigno, enquanto procura tambà (C)m para si alguma espà (C)cie de redenção para os muitos pecados que cometeu na má vida do Bronx. "Mary" tem uma sà (C)rie de pontas soltas interessantes, mas, infelizmente, nunca encontra maneira de atá-las num todo narrativo que seja interessante e memorável. O Forest Whitaker, mesmo a remar contra marà (C), tem mais um papelão que supera a dimensão do próprio todo. Já ninguà (C)m duvida de que à (C) um dos grandes actores do seu tempo. See more walter m @Harlequin68 09/30/2009 "Mary" starts with the wrapping up of a film shoot about the life of Jesus, starring, written and directed by Tony Childress(Matthew Modine). Instead of returning to New York, Marie(Juliette Binoche), his leading lady as Mary Magdalene, flips out and decides to go to Jerusalem. Director Abel Ferrara picks up the story a year later with the imminent and controversial release of the movie but instead of focusing on Tony or Marie, Ted(Forest Whitaker), a television personality, takes center stage by interviewing experts on Jesus, allowing them to simultaneously pontificate and drag the movie down. As Ted's ratings somehow go up, his personal life is falling apart as he argues with his very pregnant wife Elizabeth(Heather Graham), probably because unbeknowst to her, he is having an affair with Gretchen(Marion Cotillard), his producer, who he also ends up betraying. All this proves is that Forest Whitaker can give an excellent performance even when playing a walking cliche. Now there is more than enough in the above to provide a very astute commentary on religion and spirituality(which "Jesus in Montreal" did so very well), but Ferrara never pulls it together into a single coherent thought. Is it supposed to be about how only a spiritual man can make a thoughtful movie about Jesus(which Pasolini disproved anyway) or how much religious violence there is in the world today? Tony is too much a jackass to get a clear sense of what he is thinking(if anything) while Marie simply remains a cipher during her brief time on screen. At least with "Bad Lieutenant," I could see what Ferrara was thinking, even if he was daft enough to put the Mets in god's divine plan. Trust me, it would not work as well with the Yankees...
