Mari and her friends broadcast their spiritual devotion through pastel pinks and catchy evangelical songs about purity and perfection, but underneath it all they harbor a deep rage. By day they hide behind their manicured façade, and by night they form a masked, vigilante girl gang, prowling the streets in search of sinners who have deviated from the rightful path. After an attack goes wrong, leaving Mari scarred and unemployed, her view of community, religion, and her peers begin to shift. Temos boas atuações, fortese isso faz queremos chegar até o final da história. Não que você se importe com as personagens, pois mesmo que o arco vá acontecendo, dificilmente você se desvencilha do asco inicial do que elas fazem. A crítica religiosa é muito boa, aliás a melhor parte do filme. Mas infelizmente nada se amarra. Temos uma investigação que não termina, uma alteração nas personagens que não sabemos se é real ou ficcional. Umas maluquices que a médica faz no hospital sem sentido nenhum, e isso tira a atenção do foco central do roteiro.

The female members of an Evangelical group form a vigilante gang, prowling the streets at night and preying on sinful women who have deviated from the path of God. Disruption arises when one of the girls from this religious cult awakes her sexual and rebellious side, triggering a hysterical reaction from the other members. "Medusa" is loud and clear on its social examination of the religious fanaticism that proliferates in Brazil, a country oppressed by those who perpetuate a life of blind obedience to the Christian lifestyle. The movie weaponizes this sharp critique by focusing on the hypocrisy and cynism of cult leaders and their followers. Awkwardly fun!

Ominous and funny with very well executed satire of religion. The symbolism that filmmaker incorporates is so powerful. The film is also aesthetically beautiful to watch and has an excellent soundtrack. A gripping and engaging film, highly recommend.
