It was a powerful, emotional, and uplifting documentary, and very well shot and edited. Mountain Queen marries two genres I have begun to love—the amazing story of a remarkable woman who hasn’t received the recognition she deserves, and adventuring.

“Mountain Queen” doesn’t necessarily reinvent the genre, but it’s hard not to be inspired by Lhakpa Sherpa — a survivor in every sense of the word — and her awe for the mountain she views as a deity.

This is an inspiring story that must be seen, so we can begin to see each other for the greatest we can be. Lhakpa Sherpa is a fierce woman with a heart of gold who accomplished what no other has.

Doc about Lhakpa Sherpa, her amazing life and climbing career, and featuring her fraught relationship with her climbing partner and ex-husband, Gheorghe Dijmǎres. The film draws parallels between these two tremendous challenges in her life. Absolutely worth the watch.
