Cork B @RT87142816 2d There are some funny scenes here, but it is not consistent at all. It has that Harold and Kumar meets Hitchhiker's Guide vibe, but weighed down but spotty writing and a so so cast. The crazy brother, in particular, was critical to the film, and while the actor wasn't bad, he was a bit too bland for the role. Also, this movie has about the worst soundtrack I have ever heard. There are some really funny bits throughout and some running gags that do really well as they continue up to the end. This movie also has some heartfelt moments. Instead of feeling fun and energetic, the movie comes across as overly cheesy and weighed down by weak writing that struggles to keep the audience engaged. The screenplay is easily the film’s biggest problem. The jokes rarely land, scenes drag longer than they should, and the story feels disconnected for most of the runtime. Rather than building momentum, the movie constantly feels like it is stumbling through random ideas without any real direction. The cast does what they can with the material, but the performances are not enough to save the film from its outdated comedic style and lack of originality. It relies heavily on familiar faces and old-school humor, but instead of feeling nostalgic, it feels tired and uninspired.
