Judge it accordingly, I suppose. The newest Pirates film isn't all that great, but it is enjoyable. If this series be your fancy, sail away. If not, stay at the dock. After all, dead-bored movie watchers tell no tales.

This movie is honestly not terrible. I came in with low expectations, but the story was surprisingly solid. It is obviously no where near as good as any of the first three, but the story is solid, THE BLACK PEARL IS BACK, the ending was decent, and there were a few other good things in between. I also like how we saw the story of how Jack Sparrow got his name. It’s not all good though. There are still some dumb and disappointing moments; especially when Jack gave away the compass for literally nothing. It was still surprisingly decent overall. Not disappointing to watch. 6/10

As an absolute fan of the Pirates of Caribbean series this movie was so disappointing. Everything from the acting to the sets to the special effects was so subpar compared to the previous movies. The plot itself just feels as though the creators were reaching for a new movie. Watch every movie up until this one if you don’t want to ruin the series for yourself.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales may not reach the heights of the original trilogy, but it’s still an entertaining adventure with plenty of action, humor, and swashbuckling fun. Seeing Captain Jack Sparrow back on the high seas is enjoyable, even if the character doesn’t feel quite as sharp as before. The visual effects are impressive, the ghostly villains look fantastic, and the return of familiar faces adds a welcome dose of nostalgia. While the story is predictable at times, it’s a fun popcorn movie that captures enough of the franchise’s spirit to keep fans entertained.

This was definitely a step up compared to the last one, and it was so much fun to watch. The entire Pirates of the Caribbean saga is one of the greatest series of films I've ever watched, and Jack Sparrow is easily one of the greatest fictional characters ever created. I definitely recommend this for action, adventure, fantasy, and period-piece fans!
