I didn’t even finish the movie its currently still playing, im on a plane but still this movie is ridiculously unserious, the characters lack emotions… there is literal vampires and the characters just seem to act as if thats normal. Not to mention the one black kid with bigger balls than the whole cast combined.. bro found out there was vampires and was like "…I guess I gotta kill Barlow now…" like what. Your friends died, your parents died. Bruh See more gungi T @WhatWhere Jun 26 The movie as a standalone — ignoring the original manuscript it is based off — swings between showcasing strong elements but also weak aspects, shifting in a transitory quality like night and day. This duality aptly mirrors the movie's intersection of the nightmares occurring in the dark and the day that brings "light" into the vampiric takeover. The contagious extension and terrorizing of the vampires marks the strongest point of the movie, alongside its cinematography and — while sometimes pretentious — clever editing and transitions. The master and Dracula-like figure behind the nightmarish horror in the town oozes mystery, and throughout his rather occasional presence, preserves an eerie aura, only to be portrayed as a frail antagonist. The characters, and mainly the protagonist, are very one-dimensional and uninspiring. The somewhat unsuccessful writer searching for inspiration trope is as drained as the child outshining the adult cast in cunning and vigor. From the glowing crosses "throwing" vampires across the room to the main protagonists always waiting until 30 minutes to sunset to do anything. I mean its a whole different story if they were just early risers. Even the head vampire decisions made no sense and we never even get a full understanding on what the vampires were even trying to accomplish. The story would’ve been so much better if when they turned into vampires, they kept their personalities, but we’re corrupt instead, we get mindless vampires that stand in the sunlight Even the head vampire was supposed to be this ancient being. At the end of the movie he’s in a coffin in a drive-through movie theater in the wide open. Why doesn’t he go back to the original castle or home on the hill or a cave? The logic was just terrible the beginning of the movie and up until everyone turns into vampires, except for the main characters was great because it was brutal And after one mistake you’re gone, but then all of a sudden there’s two people left and they’re able to kill a whole town full of vampires ,yeah right. I don’t know who’s writing the script but yeah, this shit sucked.
