Scream 7 lacks any semblance of its energy on either the horror or the comedy side of things. It’s not scary, and it’s not that funny. I wish some studio executive had the bravery to kill the franchise. Be sure to shoot it in the head.

Instead of building on the new direction with Sidney in the lead, Scream 7 rolls backwards. This is not the worst slasher movie ever made, but it is a new low for the franchise.

Scream 7 holds the dubious distinction of being the first bad installment of the franchise. The main culprit for killing off so much of the fun in Scream 7 is a disappointing lack of innovation and continuing the series’ evolution.

Good watch. A great mix of traditional Ghostface atrocities, creative new "executions", a dash of humor, a hint of romance, and action-packed fight scenes with old-school and new-school heroines. Pretty good overall for a Scream flick, but fans of the original may notice and dislike certain missing or substituted elements.
