Jane (Anna Faris), a struggling but perpetually stoned actress, has a busy day ahead. She has several important tasks on her list, including buying more marijuana. It has Anna Faris in full goofball mode, which is a treat, but she's the only element in the effort that's worth following, as the rest of the offering can't rise above dismal ideas for comedy.

there are a lot of moments that feel more frightening than comedic and the vibes are uncomfortable in many scenes. i can see why some people would love this and some would hate it, because if you are just looking for a silly stoner comedy this one is actually not very relaxing. the laughs are limited and the ending was pretty dumb, not in a funny way. i like anna farris and i think the movie is watchable, but could be a lot better.

Smiley Face is made to be a fun, almost pointless comedy that still manages to capture a world of chaos, greatly carried by Anna Faris (as usual). A lot of people will probably dislike this movie, but it’s definitely for people who enjoy absurd, stoner-style comedies similar to Scary Movie. 4/5.
