Set ten years after the events of "The Phantom Menace," the Republic continues to be mired in strife and chaos. A separatist movement encompassing hundreds of planets and powerful corporate alliances poses new threats to the galaxy that even the Jedi cannot stem. These moves, long planned by an as yet unrevealed and powerful force, lead to the beginning of the Clone Wars -- and the beginning of the end of the Republic.

Critics Consensus

Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones benefits from an increased emphasis on thrilling action, although it's undercut by ponderous plot points and underdeveloped characters.

The computer-generated effects dazzle, and the story, while complicated in the manner of a comic-book serial, clips along at a decent pace. Go to Full Review

There is much to enjoy in Attack of the Clones... But there's much to regret too, in the way the Star Wars series seems to have ossified. Go to Full Review

Raldyr H @Raldyr 1d While still a strong movie, it is in my opinion the weakest of the prequels. See more Romas M @Romas 2d Greetings from Lithuania. "Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones" (2002) is an entertaining and excellently made Star Wars film. I enjoyed it way more then "Phantom Menace". This one has improved acting, tighter directing, better pacing and the whole storytelling is a significant step up. The downsight of "Attack of the Clones" is an overuse of CGI, which in 2002 looked good, but now rewatching this film is 2025 on UHD release do look like from PS2 era. Why did they did clones themself even in close ups CGI is beyond me. I do remember explosions from "Empire Strikes Back" more vivid then any action set piece from "Attack of the Clones" - and it has nothing to do with nostalgia - practical effects will always be on the top. Other then that, this is a very fine film. It moves the story of a trilogy in a significant way. Music is incredible by John Williams. See more Emerson H. @movielover9 4d So, I have had a few days to think after watching Attack of The Clones, and obviously, it has flaws ( most notably the occasional painful dialogue, specifically the line about sand, if you know you know), but I had a pretty good time, it takes a while to get to the good parts, but it is worth it when it does! So, as a movie, probably like a 7.2/10, but as a Star Ware movie, a solid 8/10! See more David B. @RT14283473 6d Incredibly dull, an hour too long! See more Andrew B. @RT43882506 May 25 Star Wars episode 2 attack of the clones is the worst writing I’ve ever seen in a Star Wars film and terrible acting that leaves you a mess of a movie that is horrendous… it is definitely the worst Star Wars movie ever…… 0.9/10 See more Irek M @RT35948637 May 24 Bardzo fajny film warty do obejrzenia muzyka Klasa See more Read all reviews
