Jace E @thefilmguy 3d This movie is peak Disney princess material. The characters have an incredible depth and growth, the voice acting is top-tier and the animation is gorgeous. Plus, the villain is an all-timer. Best Character: Rapunzel Best Quote: "Well, that's the good part I guess. The characters work perfectly in this film, Mother Gothal is fantastic villain, shes so manipulative in drives you mad & you want to see her get whats coming to her. Flyn is a great male lead who goes this great character, Raqunzel is brillant, she goes on this great journey of freedom & breaking free from effectively the imprisonment shes expriencing, growing confidence & bravery in a way that dosen't get of her feminity or joy/hope. The romance between the two was really well done as well. Yeah no notes this feels like the perfect comdination the old tradtional disney princess films & the new movies without it trying to bash you over the head with how new, modern & progressive it is. Its able to highlight what very much worked about those old films while bring something new. Yeah I thought it was brillant. They adapt the story of Rapunzel well, but I feel like they updated / modernized too much and it doesn’t have that elegant, classic vibe like Disneys previous princess films. It feels more like a parody of Rapunzel rather than a genuine retelling of the fairytale. It’s an entertaining movie with lots of great voice performances, I just wish Disney would have gone the more traditional route regarding the narrative and visuals.
