The story takes place in winter, 1950. In the freezing cold Changjin Lake region, a bloody battle between the United States and China begins. Faced with the harshest conditions of extreme cold, lack of rations and vast difference in weaponry, the Chinese troops forge ahead, fearless and determined. They successfully blow up the Shuimen Bridge, making the most critical victory in the War to resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea.

The Battle at Lake Changjin is a very bloated war movie filled with simplistic dialogue, poorly written characters, and tedious fight scenes. This repetitive depiction of a crucial battle in the Korean War does not earn its nearly three-hour running time.

It is a carefully crafted movie to show the brutality of the bloody war and desire for the Chinese to fight for peace by standing up against Americans. On movie making itself, the battle and story telling are pretty real and awesome. But Sorry for Americans, you have to learn Mandarin (Chinese) to truly understand and appreciate the movie. To be fair, the movies also showed heavy casualties on Chinese side and mighty fire power on the American side as well. Excellent movie and Kudos to Wu Jin’s acting and directors’ master of movie making.

3h de propagande nauséabonde, faisant croire que tout était beau en chine à cette époque, la réalisation est mochissime avec plein de fond vert et d'image de synthèse moches et inutiles (le faire en vrai pour certaine aurait été moins couteux et 1000 fois plus beau et réaliste).... Vraiment regarder ce film c'est perdre 3h de sa vie !!!!!!!!!
