See more Ben S @RT32152838 Mar 15 From the start this film feels like a perfectly middling undergrad class project with clumsily written exposition and try-hard shot composition (there's one particular pan -> dolly creep that absolutely ruins any immersion). The writing continues to be a bit of an afterthought, embracing worn out cliches like "total jibberish whiteboard formula ending in '?' " and just plain lazy dialogue that is at times excessive, in others entirely too little, often just bizarrely timed (e.g. arguing about who gets to drive to escape the scary monster). Plotwise the time loops were a decent concept, but the brother relationship drama was pretty meh. Noticed that the leads' character names are the same as the actors, which kinda reflects the difficulty in the on-screen relationship (I think they're likely pals from outside, hence difficulty getting into the characters). And, like this review post, this movie was FAR too long. Maybe a fun bad movie to watch high. I won't find out. I was so intrigued by the storyline and the mystery to it that I had to keep watching. The acting is and filming is good, but the story is dribble. Too many characters make statements that you are going duh. It has some good elements to it, but they are just not worth the effort. See more Big D @Drazker Jan 26 After watching, i have a strong feeling the show "From" took a lot of inspiration from this film. Cosmic thriller littered with dread, anticipation and strong messages of hope. The bond between brothers shows not even a god-like entity has control over a united family. This movie caused an avalanche of symbolism and I'm not even sure they meant to. Considering the films budget (300k) and lack of a named brand director, but executed extremely well I comfortably give it a 4.5/5. See more Read all reviews
