Dr. Steven Murphy is a renowned cardiovascular surgeon who presides over a spotless household with his wife and two children. Has a doctor ever killed your father, and you used voodoo to get back him? Yea, me too. Yorgos Lanthimos's follow-up to The Lobster, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, is every bit as creepy, dark, and ironic as the former.

My third watch of this movie was a firm reminder that it’s one of the best surrealist, psychological thrillers ever made. It really is like a nightmare. I can’t help but laugh at all of the morons giving it one star for being "slow." It builds tension from start to finish, and it gets so tense you’ll barely be able to sit still.

I’ve been binging Yorgos Lanthimos (“Bugonia”)lately and “The Killing of a Sacred Deer” was next. Barry Koeghan (“Saltburn”) absolutely shines again. This film is strange, it’s slow, but the performances from the aforementioned Koeghan and Colin Ferrell carry this movie. If you’re in the mood for something different, give this a shot.
