Don’t expect this story to say anything new. Its job is to replace the need for newcomers to watch [Frank's] Netflix appearances. The action throughout the special was great and delivered exactly what you would expect from a Punisher story. The fights were brutal, intense, and kept the gritty tone that makes the character so popular. What worked best was seeing Frank Castle once again fully embrace the ruthless side of the Punisher. The atmosphere felt dark, violent, and grounded, which fit the character perfectly. My biggest issue honestly is that I wish this wasn’t just a one episode special. It felt like there was potential for a much bigger story and more development around the characters and world. The episode ended leaving me wanting more instead of feeling fully satisfied.
