Real-life best friends Ruth Syratt and Megan Stevenson run a vintage bric-a-brac shop in Muswell Hill, London. Stumbling across a time machine, they embark on trips to the past to stock their emporium with quirky artefacts with no idea of the irreparable damage they're causing to the fabric of the universe. After one excursion too many, an interdimensional fissure appears and Ruth must free Megan from The Unreason, a monstrous netherworld where a convoluted game is played for all eternity.

If the resulting low-budget assemblage still bears these nametags and has the odd stray thread showing, it also has a persistent charm of its own.

The Eighties aesthetic runs throughout, and spiritually, Time Travel Is Dangerous! is something of an 8-bit charmer, full of practical effects and the anything-goes wackiness that engined action-comedies of the era.

Presumably, Reading had a microscopic budget, yet his film never feels cheap. It’s got a charming handmade quality, as if everyone pitched in to create ingenious practical solutions instead of throwing money at problems.

Hilarious must see British comedy. If you like films with humor and unique sci-fi imagination you’ll love this. If you liked hitchhikers guide to galaxy and spinal tap and movies like that you’ll like this. Incredibly inventive and funny premise. Actors were fabulous, director was amazing. Set design and props are extremely well done especially for an indie. A good time for all to see.

I thoroughly enjoyed Time Travel is Dangerous. It’s full of laughs and has an excellent ensemble of actors. The special effects are fantastic for an indie film and the score is great too. Would definitely recommend watching!
