When Melinda met Robert, she was skeptical of his charming nature but couldn't deny how attracted she was to him. Once they fell in love, Melinda molded herself into everything he wanted her to be. I could relate to some of it, been ripped off by men in the past. And yes, now they are doing well. But I would never go back, never contact anyone, etc. She was just plain crazy, but I think he made her crazy. He did give her the money which she should have been grateful for and left him alone after that. He was a loser.
