VHSHalloween was fun but it lacks a lot of these clever aspects, instead going for what amounts to haunts that don't tick the WTF meter as much as they should and yeah even Coochie Coo was not as creepy as it thought it was. Also missing is the international flavour, which tended to make some entries a whole other level of horror. I like V/H/SHalloween but not in the same way i enjoy the rest of the franchise and if you haven't seen V/H/S 1 & 2, Beyond, Viral, 94, 99 and oh yeah 85! Still worth a watch on your favorite holiday! Also ABCs of Death 1 & 2 are a cut above this entry as well! I've tried the other ones, there's one or maybe two decent skits in each - decent is also generous. This one was consistently good throughout - some were actually scary, almost all of them are big swings/super odd in a good way, one is genuinely disturbing (in a way that these vhs horror movie types are supposed to be) so I'm very pleasantly surprised.
