Victoria Grant (Julie Andrews), a down-and-out British soprano, struggles to find work in the nightclubs of 1930s Paris. While trying to scam a free meal, Grant meets cabaret performer Toddy (Robert Preston), who comes up with an idea that will change everything. Acting as her manager, Toddy bills Grant as a male female impersonator. When the nightclubs eat it up, the duo makes it big -- even a Chicago mobster (James Garner) is enamored with Grant. But keeping the truth a secret is no easy task.

Vincent S @Vin_E_At_The_Movies 3d I love everything about this grand musical masterpiece. The performances are outstanding, especially from Julie Andrews, Robert Preston, James Garner and Alex Karras plus the great supporting actors. The musical numbers are joyous and energetic, the directing of slapstick is glorious and perfectly executed. The major selling point is the energy and the heart and emotion that sneaks in, A masterpiece from one of our greatest directors, Blake Edwards. See more Kyle M @RT77296778 Jun 21 Blake Edwards’ bold approach to sexuality isn’t only a formal discourse set for amusement; it’s a moderate, feel-good delight with a wittily divine screenplay elegantly scored to shine a dazzling spotlight onto the cast having an excellent fun time. At first it seems crazy but once you start watching you can’t stop. With a star studded cast including Julie Andrews, James Garner, and Robert Preston this movie shines. The score holds its own against any classic musical and leaves you in awe. Victor/Victoria deserves more recognition than it gets. It is truly and incredible masterpiece. See more CodyZamboni Z @CodyZamboni 02/14/2025 Movie is amusing, With loads of slapstick and fun musical numbers. And one real laugh out loud moment involving lightning, The cast seems to be having a fun time, The real delightful surprise is Lesley Ann Warren, who is so entertaining and sexy as dim blonde floozy, See more Arwen A @RT01037204 10/16/2024 It seemed to be much more antiquated, and I initially thought it was produced earlier on in Julie Andrews career. The musical aspect was vital to the plot and it was a lot of fun, while it explored themes of sexuality and gender. See more Porter @RT35726027 01/07/2024 One of Julie Andrews' best movies & an outstanding performance! Such a fun watch, particularly for its time! See more Read all reviews
